  1. if you get the Cinese nationality, you may not keep your Pakistan citizenship;

    and yes you will be able to live and work in mainland,

    i did not find the years it would take to apply for naturalization process;

  2. Since you have lived in Hong Kong for over 7 years, I presume that you hold right of abode (Hong Kong's form of Permanent Residence equivalent to citizenship of Hong Kong or Belonger Status in other countries) as well as Chinese citizenship. If you only hold Chinese nationality and not HK right of abode, it will not affect your right to live and work in mainland China, only you will not be entitled to hold a HK passport. If you have not yet applied for Chinese nationality, you cannot live and work in mainland China, only in Hong Kong but since you have lived in Hong Kong for 11 years, you will have no problem getting Chinese nationality/citizenship.

    All Hong Kong citizens regardless of where they gained citizenship (excluding the disputed territory governed by the Republic of China/Taiwan) have the right to live and work in Mainland China, as well as their place of residence (ie mainland China, Macau or Hong Kong). Hong Kong residents who hold Chinese citizenship are issued a Home Return Permit, which is valid for 10 years and entitles the holder to live and work in the mainland. There are no restrictions on where you can work and live.
