The 21-year-old forward arrived at AFAS Stadion earlier this season, in the summer transfer window, from Villarreal. The youngster showed class upfront at the start of the campaign. However, he has been struggling to find his rhythm, failing to hit the back of the net in the last eight Eredivisie matches.
Nonetheless, the young American International has revealed that he is now starting to understand his role.

The 21-year-old then went on to reveal that he is yet to play with full passion and believes that he would become a complete striker while representing AZ in the seasons to come.
“I'm not used to playing football this way. I was always the opportunist striker. The trainers in Alkmaar have been working with me. I feel that at AZ I am going to become a complete striker”, Altidore added.
The outfit from Alkmaar are currently sitting at the top of the Eredivisie table, six points clear of second placed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 Eindhoven. The American ace revealed that his side is in impressive form and performing superbly as a unit.
“The team is in spectacular form at this moment. We play the football that as a player you want to see. There is much movement in the field and in midfield we have plenty of creativity”, Altidore concluded.
