Im brought a skylight and will be fitting it in our landing but need to know the following?

The one i have bought seems good but says it is for inhabitable areas - the other models say they are for habitable areas - am i really going to notice the difference. Apart from nearly £80

  1. It could be something to the effect of not having a gaseous

    vapor between the panes.. It make fog over, frost over,

    and just look nasty to see through if you use the inhabitable one.  I'd look into this further before you make a mistake you

    may regret. You are going to inhabit this environment right.

    Like spend time under it or live under it..?

    Just my thoughts,.. not an expert on this one....


  2. Pardner, do yourself a big favor and return the shylight to the shop, get your money back.

    Ask your friends if they know a good carpenter and start getting bids for the job of installing a skylight for you.

    I may be wrong, but the way you phrased your question tells me that your a novice and installing a skylight is no way for a beginner to start learning about carpentry.

  3. Habitable and inhabitable are like flammable and inflammable, two ways of saying the same thing. The converse is non habitable and non flammable.
