Im buing a Syrian Hamster and have a question about the cage.

Question

I am going to go to petsmart in 1 hour so answer fast. I want to get this cage:http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2754667 and want to know if its a good choice for a teddy bear syrian hamster. if not please provide the link to the good cage. P.S. if i buy it where to i put the bedding, in the petting spot or bottom?

I don't think this is a good choice in cage. It is hard to clean and to put together. It also breaks easily. http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.js... I suggest this cage I had it and it worked great for me and my hamster.

Put the bedding all over the cage. Bedding absorbs the smell of urine and makes the cage more sanitary for your hamster. Good luck!

You put the bedding in the bottom, and the petting spot, as for the cage... it's good, three stories, a wheel, food and water dishes, yea, it's great for a hamster!!! Hope I helped and good luck!

I don't think you should buy it because when I had a hamster he got stuck in the tube.  But that is my opinion.  You could do what you want.  And if you do get that cage put bedding in the petting spot and the bottom.  Good luck with your new hamster!

P.S.  What I used for my hamster was a aquarium with a lid that had holes in it so it could breath.

a couple of my friends had that for their teddy bear hamsters and they hated it. syrian hamsters like to have more room on the ground. oh, yeah, please dont go to petsmart! they treat the animals tehy have badly. if you dont belive me go to http://www.petsmartcruelty.com you should get.... http://www.petco.com/product/11007/Super... thats one of the cages i have for my teddy bear hamster!

That cage, well. The tubes look too small for any syrian hamster.

My suggestion is getting a plastic bin from wal-mart and making a cage out of that. It is ALOT cheaper than buying a cage and less likely that your hamster will escape. You can connect tubes and add more bins, even add a cage if you'd like to.

I have seen this cage in person at a pet store and they have gerbils in it and they LOVE it!! They always climb up the tube and into the top part. Put bedding on the bottom and top but put the most bedding on the top!

Yes, all Crittertrail cages are good, I have owned 3 different ones maybe 4. I prefer the X and Dazzle.

PERFECT! put the bedding in both spots!  use carefrsh and NEVER CEDAR OR PINE OR ANY TYPE OF SHAVINGS!
