  1. First year for any E body was 1970, they were only average cars back then, most suffered from poor fit and Finnish, lots of squeaks and rattles, and rust through in fenders and body panels, in other words, they were like all Domestic cars built in that era. As far as there popularity now, just try to find one under $6000 , a good condition, Challenger w/ a big block, even non matching #'s car will get top dollar, They tend to be popular with everyone now that Chrysler redesigned one on a new  Charger platform,

  2. i have had 2-70,s as 3- 71 models they didn't make a 69 model though, all mine were built to race,if you find one its either going to have to be restored or it already has been, there's no way to put a life span on a restored car, they last as good as the work was done on them, good luck with it.

  3. Dodge did not make the Challenger in 1969.  My 1971, a 340 cu in lasted until we had our second child.  3yrs  80,000 miles.  It looked good and ran like stink.  The duel point distributer went through ignition points pretty often and these were difficult to replace and adjust. (electronic ignition was just coming in fashion)  The outside rearview mirrors whistled in the wind.(that could be either cool or annoying)

  4. No you are NOT buying a 1969 Dodge Challenger.... They did not start making them untill 1970.... Thats when the Movie "Vanishing Point" came out and that was the main car... and in the end they blew up a camero insted of the challenger into the dozer!! That was cool!! But anyway I have owned several of these and still have 1 Baby left.. My 71 R/T .....The Challengers were made from 1970 to 1974

The Barracuda came out in the 60's are you sure it is not like a 69 fastback cuda?? Take a closer Look...!!!

  5. Challengers were only made '70-74. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodge_Chall...

It could've been a plymouth barracuda.

Let me put it this way: you are lucky just to have a working challenger.
