  1. Sure why not...We take our Boxers camping and they have a ball.WE just make sure we got a secluded camp spot.My dogs are really friendly and will run up to anybody wanting to play...We got a extra large tent so they sleep with us!!!!I see no cons!!!!They want to go out too!My dogs hate bug spray.I see no reason to take them to the vet...We have to make sure our dogs have had their rattlesnake shots.

  2. Little dogs love the out doors too! If it's a short trip, then it's always good to expose the dog to that environment to see how it will respond.  I have a German Shepherd that doesn't like to be outside in one spot for too long.  just a couple of things to keep in mind:

    +Make sure the campsite or hiking trails allow dogs. Some Federal parks allow dogs into the park, but don't allow them on hiking trails. State parks  have similar rules.

    +Make sure you have all necessary dog stuff like dog tags on the collar, leashes, blankets, food/water bowls, food, toys, and treats!

    +Don't do too much at once.  If the dog hasn't been camping before, or hiking, just do a little bit at a time.  Go for a walk, then take a break, go a little further.  Don't just let the dog run where it wants to.  In unfamiliar territory it could be easy to get lost even if you think they are with in eyesight.  doesn't take much to disappear.  (especially little dogs) Plus you don't know what animals are hiding in the bushes your dog could wander into.

    +Make sure you have the dog on a leash, tether, or dog run at all times! for the dogs safety and your peace of mind.  Leash laws are enforced in state and federal parks any hoo.

    +Make sure that the dog gets plenty of shade and water.  Granted, it's cooler this time of year, it's easy to get over heated and no where to cool down.

    Have fun!

    If your dog isn't into that kind of thing it's OK

  3. Make sure she has her shots, because if she doesnt then she will be prone to diseases. Make sure that the campground you are staying in, allows dogs. Always make sure to bring your puppies familar things;

    *Toys

    *Same Food

    *Crates

    *Blankets

    *Treats

    Good things;

    *including your pet on the outings

    *having fun with pup

    *not having to leave the dog at a strangers house, or a kennel

    *your pup would love to be outside all the time

    Bad things;

    *prone to more diseases, if he doesnt have his shots

    *he may bark, and wake up neighboors,

    *If you have a tent, make sure to bring blankets if it's cold

    Things to make sure you bring;

    *Leash

    *Collar

    *Crate

    *Familair Toys

    *Food

    *Treats

    *Their food dish

    *Blankets(if it's cold)

    *Your puppy's shot records(some campgrounds require this!)

    *Make sure to always keep your puppy within your sight

    Good Luck, and have fun.

    I hope I have the best answer!
