Im christian and i want to know is it ok to get a tattoo and a piercing?

Cause ive been told that you shouldnt its in the bible but then ive been told its fine its just that back in th e day they had like less professional things than they do now. and its the same for piecrings so is it ok for me to get both?

The bible only forbids self mutilation (tattoos, piercings, etc...) as a form of mourning the dead. So now as a Christian I have 2 tattoos and 6 piercings. But other people interpret what the bible says differently and say that ALL self mutilation is a violation of the holy temple of god that you are supposed to be. You need to decide how you feel about it after examining your own faith.

Well I'm a Southern Baptist Christian and there are people who think it's an awful sin. I look at it like this..God says that your body is a temple and temples are decorated so I say it is okay. :) I don't really see what really conservative christians see that is so awful about it. I have 6 piercings and 2 tattoos and it doesn't change the kind of person I am. I still love God and it is between him and I. :) If I get to heaven and he goes "Now Miss Kellie, what did I say about piercings and tattoos?" I'll smile and tell him that I thought wrong and I was only a human that is expected to sin. :)

go for it can't you guys ask for forgiveness later? yes mutilating oneself is a sin, but you are not doing that you are adorning your self with the beauty you have in your heart on the skin you have on you body, God gave us all free will remember?

I'm a Christian and I have 3 tattoos... I don't see whats wrong with it.  I think of it as like a surgery... I mean people don't question if plastic surgery is ok? So I don't worry about it.  And as far as piercing goes I don't see anything wrong with that either.

Im a Christian to and the Lord did say your body is a temple but if you want to get a tattoo think about if you want it when your like really old cuz its there foreva. but piercings are also pretty much ok cuz most of them you can take out.

It depends on how YOU interpret what you're reading in the Bible.  Some religions believe one thing and some believe others.  Every decides for themselves what they want to believe...or what they've been TOLD they should believe in some cases too!

I think you should live your life to the fullestevery day.  No one should be able to tell you that u can or can't do something because of your religion.  I think tattoos and pierceings are a form of art.  i say go for it.
