  4. First things first welcome!! (whenever you decide to come). India is a country of immense flavors, I am sure you are going to love your stay here and are going to be back for more soon.

Bombay (now called Mumbai) is a very safe place. The normal modes of transport are Local Train (the fastest but the most crowded mode), Taxi, Autorickshaw, Bus and Flights. All of them are safe. But if you are a woman travelling alone try and avoid taking a Taxi or Autorickshaw in the nights. Train and Buses are safe throughout the day.

Goa is a paradise itself, commuting is mostly though buses, Taxis, autorickshaws or you could hire a bike or cycle to travel. Travel here is very safe but like Bombay, if you are travelling alone, avoid travelling by taxi or autorickshaw in the nights. In the daytime any mode is absolutely safe.

Gujarat, where do u want to go? Anyways, Gujaratis on a general basis are very repsectful towards women and so modes of transport like Bus, Local trains, Taxis etc. are all safe.

If you are a white skinned Female be prepared for some blatant ogling and some stupid catcalls. Avoid wearing Provocative clothes on the streets. If you are on the beach or in some disc or pub, nobody is going to really mind your clothing, but on the streets be modest in you dressing.

I am telling you this so that you are well prepared.

I would like to suggest Jaipur, Agra and Delhi etc. as additions to your itenary, if you are interested in historic places.

Kerela, Goa, Daman, Darjeeling, Kashmir etc. are places of immense scenic beauty.

Do check the sites mentioned below before you undertake your journey.

Having said all that let me remind you that India is a beautiful Country with much to see and enjoy!! Be Prepared to fall in love :-).

  7. transport is a little rough on the ground, planes are standard.  i have only been to dehli and punjab, both of them are nice.  i have friends who have been to the other places.  gujarat does not sound too fun, bombay is supposed to be nice, but goa is supposed to be paradise.

india is an amazing country, as busy as it is there is a peaceful atmosphere, wherever you go, it will be the experience of a lifetime.

  8. in bombay for travelling inside city try taxis, buses cheap. beware of pickpockets cheating moving from cityto city train is best unreserved boggies crowded rush.
