  1. There are more to cameras than just the megapixel count. 5 megapixels is about equal to a 35mm film in terms of quality, going higher makes it more of a high-res shot.

However, there are a few brands to avoid like the plague. Kodak (yes it is well known) however to share or print photos you HAVE to use their software. I was very impressed with my Fuji (it was easy to use, took good pictures). It was also about 148 dollars.

The Nikon coolpix wasn't bad, but it was less user friendly and it blurred easily in low lights.

HP makes very good cameras along with the well known Canon and Sony.

Just whatever you do, avoid kodak, I honestly don't know much about casio or samsung cameras. Just keep the receipt and if you don't like it, return it, walmart has like a 45 day policy on returns (with a receipt).

  2. canon's the better that sony... sony cameras are way too expensive compare to canon cams...

  3. The higher the better, but the more megapixels the more you'll pay. :)

  4. what they said ^

more megapixels = higher quality = higher price

  5. megapixels have got NOTHING to do with quality at all, a few years ago i saw a 21mp camera for sale on ebay from japan for about £40 and u wud probably take better photos off ur phone, first of all look for a quality reputable camera make with a gud sensor, then by all means go by megapixels if ur undecided as they will create higher resolution pictures,

to view pics on ur screen and to print out standard size photos 6"x4", u would probably neva need above 3mp!

so ignore the megapixels until uv selected a few gud makes,

if your after a compact go for. either nikon coolpix, canon ixus, fuji. just to name a few, they are gud cameras

  6. I've found in my experience that as long as the camera has at least 6 megapixels the quality of the imagine is fine. I guess a I would recommend a Canon Powershot, I own one and for a little point and shoot it's very nice.

  7. Check out the Canon Powershots.  They are great cameras and come in a variety of models and prices.   I have a 6 MP and it takes very nice pictures.

Canon is considered the leader in Point & Shoots, so stick wirh a company that has been making cameras for many years.

Be sure to get a little case to keep it in, and always use the wrist strap when you are using it, so you don't drop it.  Have fun!

    Thanks

  9. Even though everyone keeps saying that the high megapixels the better the quality... THAT IS NOT TRUE. A 5 megapixel camera will take just as good of picture as an 8. But here are some good camera and to me... aren't too expensive. If you go onto www.bestbuy.com you can look at these cameras. And remember you will need to get a memory card too so figure that into the price. Good luck!!

    Nikon L18

    Sony DSC-S750
