Im confused why Aquatica has this rule?

Ok,Aquatica was a great place!I got a map but I didnt look at it till I got home and There is a rule that says"For Your Safety,LifeGuards Can Make eye contact While Speaking With You!" Why????

  1. It sounds like a typo. I've been to water parks and the rule they have is "lifeguards can not make eye contact while speaking with you". The reason for this rule is the life guards need to constantly watch the water for any signs of drowning instead of being distracted with conversation. They tell us this so we don't think there is a bunch of rude life guards working there.


  2. The reason why is that they still have to keep an eye on the other guest for their safety.  They don't want to come off as rude.  But they can't be distracted from a possible drowning within their assigned area.

    because you need to keep your eyes on the water to make sure no one is in trouble. so they will talk to you, answer your questions but not look at you directly. unless there are two lifeguards in a single station and they are taking turns looking over the same area. but usually at pools and water parks that is not the case. they want to let the guests know so that they don't think they are being rude.
