  1. I don't know how to cook a steak. But as far as the sides: a baked potato, corn, rice and some rolls ftw

  2. I like mushrooms as a side dish with my steak and a yeast roll with a lot of salad throwed in.

  3. you can find some really good recipes on foodnetwork.com. but i usually marinate my steaks in some A1 new york steak house marinade.  its sooooooo good. cook them on the grill. and get some crab imperial and top the steaks w/it or stuff it in some baby portabellas and put them under the broiler for a few minutes.  cant go wrong w/some seafood n steak!  what ever you decide, hope you two enjoy it! congrats!

  4. I marinate my steaks in salt, pepper, olive oil, garlic and balsamic vinegar, overnight if I can.  Then I take it out of the marinade then sear it on both sides in a iron skillet (but any that can go in the oven will do).  I put it in a preheated 350 oven for about 20 mins  (I like well done, but use that as a guide) then I take the steak out of the pan and place it on a platter and I cover it with foil.  I then take the pan I cooked it in and add some onions and red bell pepper slices, cook until tender then add about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of PORT wine.  Use a wooden spoon the scrape the bottom of the pan, then I add like 3 or so pats of butter or margarine and let it reduce a little.

  5. marinade the steak in Dales seasoning with a little liquid smoke and honey (1 teaspoon). Let is marinade over night in the fridge. Grill over charcoal or a gas grill that is preheated. You won't need it but have some A1 steak sauce on the side. As for what else to cook, with a steak, try a small baked potato (baked @350 degrees for at least 3 hours), and steamed carrots and broccoli.

  6. maybe mashed potatoes and broccoli

  7. Cook it on a charcoal grill. Baked potatoes, and a nice tossed salad on the side.

  8. Nothing beats a grill.  If you don't have access to one, do it under the broiler.

  9. Just sprinkle it with a little steak seasoning and grill it.  As for sides, caramelize some onions to go on top of the steak and serve it with a salad and a baked potato.  And don't forget the wine!

  10. Definately on the grill.  If you have a costco nearby, go and get a couple of their choice rib-eyes (choice is one step below prime and prime is the best!), should cost you about $15.00 for both. season them with your favorite seasonings and maybe some teriyaki sauce or marinade. Throw them on a hot grill for about 6-8 min. on each side for medium (if they are about and inch and 1/2 thick). I'd probably make a salad to go with it. Try to find a farmer's market for the best salad stuff.
