will my local police station let me get photos of there police cars and let me try on a stab proof vest as evidence for my protfoilio?

i'm from the u.s. but i don't think it really matters. when you get to the police station, go inside and ask for the desk sgt. or shift supervisor. tell that person, you need photos of their vehicle's for a class project and they'll most likely let you take some photos.
