yesterday, i asked how much a prescription was, and u kept telling me how much the contacts were!!

all i need to know is how much a prescription for contacts is. i dont have bad eyes or anything i just want a new color..

it depends on your insurance.  some insurance plans cover a larger percent of the cost of contacts than others.  but, if you want colored contacts, that is purely aesthetic, so you will definitely have to pay the difference for the color contacts out of pocket.  also, different types of contacts (leave in contacts, disposable, etc) have different costs associated with them.

go ask  your eye doctors, lenscrafters, 1800contacts.com, etc.

varies by doctor and by region.  we're in southeast Texas and we charge:

$69 exam

$64 contact lens fitting fee

$133 total (cant have the CL fitting w/o the exam)

that does not include a supply of contacts.  we're admittedly a little higher than some on our fees b/c we are contact lens specialists and do the complicated & difficult fits.  but at least that gives you some numbers to start with.  i doubt you could get a new CL rx for less than about $90 pretty much anywhere, but i could be wrong
