  1. yeah..unless you have at least some basic understanding of building practices,,,,this is hard to explain,,captbob is correct,,,,confusing thou,,,need more info from u,,,look in the roof...if there is no supports running from the wall,,up to the roof line,,,in theory,,,it is safe to cut a doorway through that wall,,or remove it,,more info would be helpfull...

  2. You can find out if the wall is stuructual by where you roof rafters are and whether there are any beams or walls crossing it above, Is it a continuous wall the whole length of the building? If it is it probally is a surrporting wall.

To tear out a supporting wall. Figure out what size opening you want, then brace the wall behind those measurements leaving enough room for you to work. So if you want a three foot opening put the braces five frrt apart. Take two pieces of dimensional lumber (2x6 or larger) and make a support beam Put new studs it to the new opening and two jack studs nailed to them to support the beam. Then you can refinish the wall and you have your opening. On a longer span put a piece of 1/2 inch plywood between the 2x6 for added strength.

  3. Ask your architect and the engineer on the job. This is what they are paid for.
