  1. well you can do a lottry and the winner gets a prize chose from the hat a number at random

  2. Try a 'game' where you have little outlay and which attracts many 'customers' who pay a small fee for a potential reward.

A really old one but which still raises cash 'as it it's going out of fashion' is the electric wire game. You must have seen them.

This can be made from bits of old wood, some thick wire, a buzzer and a small battery. I am sure that if you can't do this, 'you know a man who can'.

The 'apparatus' can be about two feet long, with two wooden supports, one at each end, on a wooden base. The thick wire is suspended between the posts and should be bent into 'wavy shapes'. Over this wire is a metal loop attached to a handle, which in turn has an electric wire attached to the buzzer and battery. (Anyone with electrical lnowledge can advise you how to do this.)

Each contestant has to test their nerves by passing the hoop - (a bit like those things used for dipping into soapy liquid for blowing bubbles.) One-handed or two-handed makes no difference, as nerves take over.

If the hoop makes contact with the wavy wire, the circuit is completed and the buzzer sounds. They have lost - and they usually want to try again - with another fee paid!

Don't make the bends in the main wire impossible but make them difficult! It's amazing that in this age of hi-tech, people, including kids, still go for this. It's safe, easy to set up (about ten seconds to connect the battery), lasts for years and is cheap. No problems of carriage, 'stocking up' with goods, etc. It can even be set up as an 'extra' on any old stall for when buyers are not interested in other items. They may have a go and then also might notice anything else you have to offer e.g. items for sale. Make a poster for it!

You decide how much to charge 'per go' and what prizes to offer, cash or goods like bags of sweets. Test the machine yourself to see how hard it is. If it is too easy, then bend the main wire into more difficult curves!

I don't know if this is what you had in mind but if you can have one made for a small cost, it can be very profitable.

  3. Why not try a cake or bake sale?

Alternatively, a "car boot" style stall could probably work well, as people are used to this format and happy to pay money for used items.

How about doing "face painting" for kids, alongside some other activities?  This can be a real show stopper and create crowds quickly - depending on the time of day - but as it's nearly school holidays, perhaps this could work?

    Hope it goes well!

  4. I work as a fundraiser also for a variety of organisations.

If you can let me know which country you are in I can let you have some appropriate fund raising material.

    Cheers
