  1. Here are the steps for North Carolina:

Take drivers course: 14.5 years old

    Permit: 15 yo

    Car Licence: 16 yo

    THEN, Bike Licence:18 yo

Most bikes get over 30 to 60 mpg so who cares. Alos Just to let you know. Im a Fire fighter and I have been to MANY bike wrecks. So far over 80% of them are NOT the bikers fault. Cars cant see them in their blind spots, the size of the bike makes it hard to see when the sun is in your eyes, and of course bikers are going alot faster then the limit and cars WILL cut you off because they DONT SEE YOU coming. Bikes are not what a 16 year old or even a 19 year old should be driving. Im only 20 years old. I have 2 dirt bikes but I would never get a street bike because I know that I will badly hurt myself.

  2. first you need a license and i think you need to be 17 to even take riding class. Also a young kid like you on a bike is a very bad idea, get a car and wait untill your more experienced automobile drive because driving a bike you have to be very defensive and well aware.

  3. You got two years to decide if you even want to go two wheels! Buy some running junker and take it out on the dirt, gravel, country black-tops, etc. After two years of that you can decide if you want two wheels and either know how to handle/ride all surfaces or not care for the pain when you s***w-up, or be a biker!

  4. Ive been in the industry and if you want my best advice and from what ive seen over the years. Maybe start on a 250 :-). Aprilia make an awesome two stroke 125 and Kawasaki are making a new Ninja 250 for 2008. Or if you were to blow all your money in the one hit and be silly enough to go for a 600 or bigger go the Suzuki GSXR. They have awesome gas mileage can't remember one the top of my head its like 5 litres to the 100km mark and they have much more range in motor perfrmance compared to the CBR600. Better bottom and top end. And definately the pick of the superbikes. Hopes this helps.

    Cheers

  5. You should start with a used smaller bike to learn to ride, I learned with a 350, and just in case you drop it it wont be a big deal.  Now if you feel confortable then move up to a bigger bike get some experience before you get the nice bike...  Good luck and be safe.

  6. Dont get a motorcycle there a like death traps your still young what if you get into an accident and cant walk you will spend your life in a wheel chair.Try to get a range rover or something. If you do get the motorcycle be carefull.

  7. first of all you need to take a riding class.and always keep in your mind that the other driver is not looking for you so you have to keep your eyes moving. bikes are great on gas
