i cut the top half of my finger off and im wondering it this is that bad?

Well, if you cut "the top half" of your finger "off", yeah, that's bad... But it's probably not as literal as that (I hope). Just wrap it up with something that you can bleed on, and keep it wrapped up till it stops bleeding. Put a band aid on it if it's the wound isn't that large. If you're really worried about it tomorrow, when you're sober, go to the doctors.

Well, first stop the bleeding.

You should have used a sword. The best scene in "Bottle Shock" is where the winemaker is desperate to open a bottle of wine so everyone can taste how great his wine is. No body has any thing that will open the bottle. So he grabs a ceremonial sword from where it is hanging on the wall, and whacks off the bottle at the neck.

Keep pressure on the injury, and you'll get the bleeding under control.
