  1. I would have thought that you should have been given or allowed to use a laptop.  My own son is dyslexic and once diagnosed was given and allowed to use a computer at school.  Once he had mastered touch typing he was  with the help of a spell checker able to produce a much greater quantity of work.  This was in Scotland but | would think the same applies in England.

It seems to me that just one hour of extra tuition a week is not sufficient to help you catch up with your classmates.

You should in addition be given extra time to complete all your exams.

If your school has a teacher who is responsible for children with learning difficulties you and your parents should talk to them if not then you need to approach the head teacher.

In some schools you need to make a fuss to get the help and equipment you are entitled to.  You and your parents should not be put off doing this by negative reactions from teachers.

With the right help my own son was able to get an A level in English as well as other subjects and I am sure you could do as well.

You should find advice and details of what are your entitlements and is available to help at the websites below.

The suggestion of having a dictionary is of course silly but no doubt well meant, just like a friend of mine who bought my son a scrabble game to help him with his spelling.

    Good Luck.

  2. you probably will but it wont be more than 30mins(i think) your lessons will probably tech you how to get quicking at writing before your exams

    good luck with the exams!!!!

  3. Yes you can and you will be allowed a dictionary too.

Ask your teacher to make the arrangments with the dept before you are due to sit your exam

    Good Luck
