Im evacuated ... whats fun and free in dallas?

my family and i have evacuated to dallas .. we are running from hurricane gustav.. we dont have much spare money... does anyone know of anything free or nearly free that we can do in dallas to keep our minds off of everything? i have looked stuff up online but i know there has to be more... help me out here? anyone...

  2. perhaps some church picnics it being labor day ,I'm sure you would be welcome. good luck, with everything.

  3. Check the Museums.  Art.  Natural History.  

    They usually have some free exhibits along with some pay exhibits.  You could go and just pay the parking fee and not spend any money at all.  

    Also the Texas Schoolbook Repository and the "Grassy Knoll", as well as Dealey Plaza.  This area is historic becasue President Kennedy was assassinated there.  The schoolbook repository had a short tour the last time I went that was free.  If you want to go upstairs and see more its a small entrance fee.  Go in cooler weather so you can walk about and see the whole scene were events took place.

    Reunion Tower observation deck is only $2 per person.

    Dallas Farmer's Market is an outdoor market with all kinds of things to walk around and look at.  

    All of the above is in the same general area to save on gas.  Make it a whole day.
