Im experiencing sexual side effects from meds , how long until side effects subside?

I am taking Lamictal 150mg , Risperdal 0.25mg and Zoloft 50mg , I have trouble maintaining erection and also have trouble with obtaining an o****m , how long will this last ?

  1. Yeah Zoloft can do that , and as long as you are taking it, sorry. Most antidepressants have that side affect. Perhaps talk to your doctor about changing ?  I don't take them but know people who have had the same problem your having.

  3. With the antidepressant meds you are taking, the sexual side effects won't really go away until you switch meds. Go back to the doctor and tell him what's going on and that you need to switch meds so he can wean you off safely and try something better. Good luck!

  4. as long as you keep taking the medication the side-effects are not likely to subside. its possible that you will always have problems with this even after you stop taking those medications. my exboyfriend had this happen and he eventually just threw up his hands and decided thats just how things are now, worked for him since most girls would rather a man who wasn't ALL about s*x. i'm a girl and its harder for me to deal with having sexual problems because my current boyfriend expects me to want to have s*x at least occasionally and its hard to want to.

    sucks...but something you will have to learn to live with. thats why its best to research Rx drugs and not rely on "the doctor said i should..." as doctors, unfortunately, don't always care about whats actually best for their patients. its about money. and hey, now you can spend money on viagra...more money for pharmaceutical companies and possibly your psych. doc.
