  1. You may have to get one especially made; but i would still recommend that you wear one, it will protect your gums against impact and reduce the shock you receive from strikes.

  2. Why would you want a mouth guard if you have no teeth? :S

  3. You're too old to be fighting in any MMA amateur event.  It's a young man's game, by thirty six ( 36 ) you're washed up. Unless you're Randy Couture or something.  I watched a would-be fighter get cleaned up rather quickly in a local MMA amateur event in my area trying to fight in the cage at age 40.  Dude got his head pounded just a little ( the younger guy took it easy on him I think ) and the "old man's" ankle got fractured as well during that fight.  MMA events are a "trained man's" home front.  Too many old men that want to step up and test a kid's manhood ought not be trying it in a MMA cage. hehehehe......

  4. i think you should consult someone in sports medicine or even a dentist. one or the purposes of the guard is to disperse the force of the impact, and I don't know how well this would work if you are missing your teeth

  5. You can wear a mouthguard and not put in your bridge or false teeth.  Matt Hughes (and a lot of other fighters) takes his teeth out when he fights, but still wears a mouthguard for impact protection.

You can use a commercial guard (brain pad, etc.) and do the hot-water fitting method or you can go to an orthodontist and have a custom mouthguard made relatively cheaply.

    Good luck in your bout.
