Since i bought the plane ticket online, it is known as an "e-ticket". well, ive never flown before, so i dont know what to do really. it says that you dont have to show anything other than a driver's license/proper identification, and tell them what flight you are taking. i guess. well is this how i get my boarding pass? what do i do? do i go up to the terminal and tell them who i am and get my boarding pass? what procedures do i need to take??

  1. When you get to the airport, go to the counter of the airline you purchased the ticket from. You will then show your ID and be given your boarding pass. If you are checking luggage you give it to them there. If you are taking a small suitcase/bag with you on the plane then obviousely keep it with you. Don't lose your boarding pass. Then you will go through security...take everything out of your pockets, take off any belt and your shoes they scan this...also any bags/luggage you have on you. Then you go find your gate which it will say on the ticket. I'm sure your anxious because its your first time but its not too bad. If your flying out of a small/medium airport then it will be super easy. Hope this helps.

  2. Actually the airline should have sent you an email confirmation of your flight. Within 24 hours of your departure you can log into their website and print your boarding passes, or you can do it at the airport. Bring a copy of the email with you as well along with a government issued photoe id. IE - drivers license

Your reservation/confirmation number is the 5 letter code on your email to pull up your flight information on line

  3. When you go to the terminal, simply go up to one of the check-in desks and an employee will get you your ticket.  You give them your last name and show some form of photo ID, and they will print you out a boarding pass =]

It's much easier than before, when the airlines used to mail you your tickets in advance.

  4. You go to the counter. check your bags, and last name, along with id.  Or, if the airline emailed you, go to their website, type in your name and conformation  number and you can print you're boarding pass.

  5. If you are only bringing a carry on and are not checking your bags, you can go to the little kiosks that are near the airline check ins at the airport and get your boarding pass there.  Just bring your information you got when you bought your ticket and type in what the computer asks of you.  You can also get your boarding pass from the airline desk.  This may be better for you to do at first as you can ask the airline people the questions you need answered and they can direct you what to do.  As far as ID goes, if you are flying domestically (inside the US) you will only need to show valid ID (drivers license).  They will ask you for it when you check in, go through security, and when you board so keep it out and handy.  If you are flying internationally you will need to have a current passport.  Also remember to show up at least 2 hours early.   If you get to the airport early enough you will have time to talk to airline personal to get some help.  Good luck and have fun!

    P.S.

Extra tip: Chew gum when taking off and landing to help with the pressure in you ears.   :o)
