Im only 17, so wondering if its better to put them in my suitcase rather than my hand luggage for risk of them being taken away seeing as im 'underage'.

  1. Call the airport on what their policies are...don't tell them when and where your flying from.Have a nice trip.

  2. Cigarettes are allowed in hand luggage but only one lighter per person. You can't smoke anywhere at Gatwick now except outside at bus stops 1 or 10 so make sure your flight is not delayed before going through security otherwise you can't smoke anywhere.

Cigarettes in UK are the most expensive in Europe, so buy in Holland. You can bring back unlimited amount (tax paid as opposed to duty free) if you can claim that they are for you personal use.

I don't think anyone in security will be bothered about your age - they are there to ensure the security of the aircraft.
