  1. i looked into going before, still would like to but best time to go is september (when kids have school) and to north scandanavia. they tell you to go for two weeks though cos they are so unpredictable that a few days is not enough and might not see anything at all.

    by the way, why is this in the ireland section?


  2. Go to Lapland in January or February. You can fly from Belfast to Rovaniemi or other parts of Lapland.

    Take a look at www.canterburytravel.co.uk

    and do a general web search for holidays to Lapland. They will cost about £450-600 pounds per week half board staying in a wooden lodge or hotel.

    Best time for Northern lights are said to be January/ February

  3. I went to Iceland a couple of years ago in the week between Christmas Day and New Year. The Northern Lights were fantastic. Took a coach tour about 30 mins outside Reykjavik and saw the lights. Also saw them the following day over Reykjavik.
