  1. just that you are having the worst accent I've ever heared...nice city tough

  2. was there sometime back..nice city

  3. Stuttgart is a beautiful city and there is really a lot to do there. I went to university nearby in Schwaebisch Gmuend. Depending on the season you can do so many things! The first place to start is on the Koeningstrasse (Kings street) It's the main road directly in front as you come out of the Hauptbahnhof. There is a great Spanish resturaunt that has live flamenco dancers, there are clubs and Irish pubs all through there for night life. This time of year is also the Weinachtsmarkt (Christmas Market) where you can warm up with Gluhwein! In the fall, the nearby town of Bad Cannstadt (next stop over by train) has a fest that goes on at the same time as Oktoberfest.

And if you still don't find enough to do in Stuttgart/Vaihingen, then remember that the Stuttgart Hauptbahof is one of the major stations in Germany and you can get to Switzerland, Austria,  Hungary, Belgium, France, Holland, or the Czech Republik quickly and cheaply, and get to Garmish or Interlaken Switzerland

for all kinds of outdoor activities!

    Enjoy!

  4. Stuttgart, Germany, the capital of Baden-Württemberg state (pop. 11 million, 36,000 square kilometers) and the Administrative Region of Stuttgart (pop. 4 million, 11,000 km²), is located in the center of the very densely populated southwestern Stuttgart Region (population 2.7 million, 3,700 km²) of Germany, close to both the Black Forest and the Swabian Jura. The city center (situated in a lush valley, ringed with vineyards and forests, close to the River Neckar) itself has a population of 591,528 (as of 30 April 2006) and covers an area of 207 km². Stuttgart with its metropolitan area (the political entity "Stuttgart Region" enlarged by the nearby cities of Ludwigsburg, Böblingen, Esslingen, Waiblingen, Göppingen and their respective districts [kreise]) is one of the most prominent and well-known German towns, especially due to its cultural, administrative and huge economic importance.

Stuttgart is the sixth largest city in Germany and Stuttgart Region is the nation's fourth largest conurbation (behind Ruhr Area, Rhein/Main Area and Berlin). Neighbouring large cities are Frankfurt (210 km north of Stuttgart), Nuremberg (200 km northeast of Stuttgart) and Munich (220 km southeast of Stuttgart).

The City of Stuttgart is subdivided into 23 city districts, among the most well-known are:

Bad Cannstatt (Western Europe's largest mineral spas / Zoo Wilhelma / "Cannstatter Wasen" and "Stuttgarter Frühlingsfest" on the Cannstatter Wasen)

    Moehringen (Musical Theaters)

Stammheim (High-security court & jail, see RAF terrorists)

Untertürkheim (DaimlerChrysler HQ and Original Mercedes-Benz plant)

Vaihingen (One of two campuses of Stuttgart's university, not to be confused with nearby Vaihingen(Enz))

Zuffenhausen (Home of the Porsche Sports Cars Company)

Feuerbach (Home of original Bosch plant)

Stuttgart is also the seat of a protestant bishop (Protestant State Church of Württemberg) and one of the two co-seats of the bishop of the Roman Catholic diocese Rottenburg-Stuttgart. The pentecostal Biblische Glaubens-Gemeinde ist the largest megachurch in Germany.

  5. As an American, I've heard of it.  However, before reading these other answers, I couldn't have told you anything about it.

And all this time, I thought Chrysler was ours.

  6. Drove by it during my trip to Germany.

It is where a few German cars factories are (Mercedes Benz, Volkwagen)

Host of the 2006 World Cup Bronze medal match.

  7. I lived in Ludwigsburg, Germany and studied at the Paedagogische Hochschule... I went to Stuttgart quite often since it was the closest large city.  I actually didn't like Stuttgart that much... it has some nice industry, but it wasn't very pretty.  The Weinachtsmarkt in Ludwigsburg was much more beautiful.  But, Stuttgart did offer a more lively night life (I loved some of the pubs and discos) and the trainstation became like a second home to me.  When I tell people that I lived in Germany for a year, I usually say I lived in a small city near Stuttgart and most people have at least heard of it.

  8. So much to say about it, what do you want to know specifically?

I lived in Hochdorf for 15 years growing up, its a little town bout 15min from stuttgart. Stuttgart has alot of history in Baden-Wuerttemberg, has beutifull museums, long streets full with shops to go shopping at, lot of good clubs, some of the bigger cinemas in the area, very central and has alot of international traffic run through it.

  9. I'm from Wertheim/ Germany. Stuttgart is our ( Badne Wuertemberg) capitol, and also my favorite soccerteam the VFB calls it home :-)

  10. Nothing.

  11. OK, I've heard of it numerous times before, but I had no clue about this town before your question. I did an internet search and here is what i found:

Its in Southern Germany with a total pop. of about 2.7 million

Its known for its high tech industries which include DaimlerChrysler, Porsch, and Bosch (all headquartered here). The motorbike and car were invented in Stuttgart (Impressive).

Apart from this, Stuttgart also has a long history and is known for its cultural life with numerous theatres, operas and concert halls.

This is jus the tip of the iceberg

There, I learned something new today

  12. I was born just around the corner ( Esslingen). On the weekends

we were  " clubbing ",downtown .Koenigsstrasse.

    And of course DB,Porsche factory ,VFB (KLINSI),wilhelma,fernsehturm and,and....must i say more ?
