You don't need a passport to visit Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland if you're a UK citizen, although some airelines, such as Ryanair, may require you to have some form of Photo ID or a passport.  Check with your airline before you travel.

In theory no - if you're prepared to row yourself across or swim.  If you fly or take the ferry, they will want to see "photo ID" before they let you through security.  That generally means a passport.  I wouldn't recommend trying to argue your way on board with a driving licence with 100 impatient Celts in the queue behind you.

No, you should just take you DRIVING LICENSE, or, some form of photographic identification! As a part of the EU, Ireland, has the same rules, that WE have, here, in the UK!

No Ireland and the Uk(scotland srry)are all part of the EU.Youl need to show photo Identification though.

No, it's part of the EU, but you will need photo ID..

I fly business all the time (will be later today as a matter of fact) and I can confirm that drivers licence is fine, it's what I always use.

                    No Sir  you will certainly not need any passport, but you may well need any kind of Photo ID you may have, ie A full driving licence with your photo on it, or even just an employers ID, if it has a photo on it, if you don't drive, a lot of people don't even bother with the above criterior, but you stand the risk of not being allowed to board the plane for your flight here, or no allowed on the ship, try to get a photo ID, and hurry on over here to visit us, we'd love to meet and care for you, Good luck now...Tony M
