  1. THIS IS A HOME SCHOOLING QUESTIONS AND ANS TRY ANOTHER AREA IF YOUR ASKING ABOUT ANIMALS.

UNLESS YOUR FERRET NEEDS EDUCATING AT HOME LOL KIND REGARDS

  2. No, possibly not: ferrets are 'high maintenance' pets who need heaps of stimulation, interaction, play and exercise; much more so than, say, a dog would.

All the vets suggest that if you leave a ferret home-alone for 9 hours a day (7am - 4pm is 9 hours btw, not 8), you'll first come home to a very bored, frustrated, bad-tempered, aggressive ferret and before long, you'll be coming home to a very depressed ferret who'll likely just turn its face to the wall and die on you!!

You really should not keep one ferret on its own anyway as they are social animals and therefore do best when they have 'contact with their own kind' (animal welfare regulations in some places make it illegal to keep a 'social' animal in isolation anyway); therefore if you want a pet ferret, you should at least get two (either females or castrates).

And, according to vets, if you're going to house them in a cage, it needs to be at least 4 feet X 2 feet X 2 feet.

There's also heaps of other stuff you need to know *before* you go out and get your ferrets as, whilst tough, they are more 'high maintenance' than most other pets:

  3. It should be fine as long as when you are home your ferret gets a lot of play time with you. (Ferrets require a lot more interaction then for example a cat would). Ferrets also sleep a lot so your ferret will eventually adjust to your schedule. I would say if you can possibly think about getting two? but like i said if your ferret receives enough attention then it should be fine. Also remember to keep the cage covered to block out the light, its been speculated that exposure to sunlight has been one of the factors that has led to adrenal disease in ferrets. and feed your ferret a good diet ( i use Zupreme ferret diet, and 8 and 1 ultimate ferret diet). oh and ferrets love tunnels! i would say out of all the toys i have ever bought they love their tunnel the most. Its especially funny when all 3 of mine are playing in it.  Doctors foster and smith has a lot of good stuff on their website. if you have any questions feel free to email me.

  4. get a cage and make sure it has plenty of food and water. then when u go to school keep it in their. make sure its a big cage.
