Im gettin a car from my co-worker , and i have a question?

The car was left at my co-workers house by a friend and hasnt been used for a while, the city of tulare has officially marked it as abandoned, it doesnt run and they want to give it to me, how do i go about registering that car or putting it as a non op for the time being til i can fix it? it hasnt been registered since 2003 so yea..any help?

Before I did anything I would take the vehicle identification number to your local department of motor vehicles.  Have them run it & make sure that's there's no lienholder or no other liens on it.  They can also tell you how much it's going to cost you to register & what paperwork you'll need.

Steal it in the middle of the night and push it off a cliff. Seriously do it.

This car is going to cause you trouble.Save yourself the headaches.For instance,what if the car is financed,you register it,you own it,you owe the outstanding amount on it.If it was me I would leave it well alone.

You need to call your DMV.  LIkely, you'll need a bond, and to wait a while.
