Im getting a Geforce 8500 GT soon...?

im getting one of these very soon an i was looking on the internet and it says it needs 300w psu but i have a hp with 250w an hp a6244n it is 12v atx 250w well it run it?

  1. it is recommended to get a higher wattage power supply than the required wattage on your hardware

I think you will be alright.  Especially if you have only two drives such as one hard drive and one ROM drive.  The 8500 doesn't require a dedicated power line from your PSU to your card, it runs off the power of the motherboard.  Nvidia rated those cards just like some hardcore gaming nut with 12 hard drives 3 DVDRW and QX100000 overclocked to 30000ghz was going to get that card.  Yeah right...  The average gamer avoids that card like the plague.  

  3. To be safe you should probably get more.

    And the 8500 is only 7x the power of Integrated Graphics. The 7900 is 27x Integrated Graphics.

    Just pointing that out.
