  1. Dont buy walmart fish i bought some from there and they all dies in a week.(5 fish)

  2. For one, never get your fish from Walmart. They don't care much about the health of their fish & they have them in such large quantities because they get them real cheap, which means they are not good quality. Get your betta from a local pet or aquarium store. Aquarium stores are preferred because they specialize in fish & can tell you exactly what you need to keep your fish healthy. A good, healthy, & attractive looking betta will cost under $10.00.

For food, betta food is best. They have packages of small pellets that are made especially for bettas. Never use anything like goldfish food because bettas are carnivores & goldfish food doesn't have what a betta needs to be healthy. Flake foods are also not recommended. For a good pack of betta food it would cost around or under $5.00.

For decor, since your tank is so small I would suggest just getting one small, live plant. This will help with water quality & oxygen in the water. Also, bettas like live plants with large leaves because they like to lay on them. Never put plastic plants in with bettas. The edges can be sharp or can snag the betta's delicate fins. If you want artificial plants get silk ones. They're soft & won't harm you fish. A live plant will cost $5.00 or under & a silk one will cost $10.00 or under for a good one.

Good luck with your fish && I hope this helps =]

  3. don't get 'em from walmart. look for a local pet store, there should be one somewhere around. mine was in the mall. bettas are fighters, so they don't need that much of attention as gold fish do. i got 3 goldfish oneafter another and they all died, so i got a beta and he's been great.

FOOD- don't get flakes. they're horrible. I got goldfish pellets for mine, the guy at the pet store said you could use them. pellets should be about 3-4 dollars for a box about 2 1/2 inches wide and 4 inches long.  Try asking the pet store peeps if bloodwords are okay, they shuold have them, and they're good for an occasional treat. you should clean the bowl every 1-2 weeks, and if you get pellets, give your fish about 2-3, maybe 4 every other day. yea i know the pellets are small.

DECOR-real life plants inside the tank coming from above help with the oxygen, i heard. plus they look great.

  4. Bettas don't really need decorations, and the bettas that are in the cups they'll be fine. Bettas are used to being in small tanks and bowls.

I've had a a one gallon tank and it said on the box it's perfect for Danios, Guppies, Tetras, and Bettas. It's fine. You're ready for a Betta!

I'd give you a medal for getting a Betta(because Bettas are awsome!),

but I don't know where you live...:(...Bummer(bummer as in I don't know where you live)

  5. i got 5 goldfish from walmart
