  1. Save a life and please go to your local animal shelter.  Pick out a few cats/kittens that appeal to your eye first  ~ then take each one at a time to a secluded spot and see what kind of interaction you share.  I am sure there will be at least one cat or kitten that will steal your heart/

Good luck and enjoy your new  "best friend" !!

  2. the good news is that lots of cats are very personable, especially if they were home raised by a caring family, although there are lots of baby strays that need homes, too.

for pure bred cats, you can't go wrong with an Ocicat.  They have the personable nature of the Siamese, without the yowl.  American Bob Tails are also excellent companion animals.

here is the Cat Fanciers of America website.  they have wonderful info on lots of wonderful cats!

  3. Oh, I have two cats!! They're persians, and least part, cuz their faces aren't quite smushed so I think they're at least a little mixed...

oh and one barfs a lot. She's bulimic.

Cats don't usually come to you very much, but as far as cats go mine are very affectionate! And soft and fuzzy =D

We got them when they were kitties! They were so little and cute and fuzzy! They're still pretty small and as cute as ever!

Their names are Dushtu and Mishti, which in my language Bengali means roughly "naughty" and "sweet."

  4. ragdolls are a good breed thay have a laid back easy going nature but are still fun loving

  5. Just pick one that loves you...You'll know which one...Mine climbed up my girlfriends leg and snuggled on her shoulder...He still does this to this day...Type doesn't always matter...Im sure my little kitty is a mix of alsorts...He is just great and you could tell from the moment my friends cat had him. :-)

  6. any shelter cat. they know you rescued them, and they love you.

not all cats like to be held, go to a shelter and try holding them.

  7. go to the shelter u'll no when u find the rite cat

    good luck

  8. It sounds very exciting that you are getting a cat.  Go to the animal shelter and check out as many cats as possible there.

  9. You should strongly consider adopting from a shelter.  The behavior of the kitten will depend largely on you and the way you treat it while it is young.  The more you hold it and play with it, the more cuddly and friendly and playful it will be.  You also need to know that you will be responsible for its vet care including vaccinations and having it fixed.  If your cat is not fixed that can cause behavioral problems beyond just spraying or unwanted pregnancies, it can cause aggression as well.  Cats from shelters are usually already up to date on vaccinations and are spayed/neutered, so the first step is done for you.  They will also have a basic knowledge of the personality of the cat, and should be able to help you choose which is right for you and your situation.
