  1. If you have never owned a bird then you may want to do some research! Birds are very loud and very needy and yet they find plenty of time to make BIG messes~! A bird requires a lot of time out of the cage and is kind of like a dog  wanting to play all the time. I personally love my birds, however my Black Headed Caque (a small parrot, a lt smaller than a cockatoo)  destroys everything from computer wires to my leather recliners!  I love them though and knew what I was getting into! If you want a less noisy bird you may want to look at a cocktail or a parakeet.

  2. Yes, cockatoos are loud birds.

You should do some research before bringing this bird home.

  3. I have a Goffins Cockatoo, which is a smaller one, but not his voice. My nerves are shattered at times.  Sometimes not  even the volume, he can make the same sound over and over.  I counted over 100 times one day.  If you want a quiet bird you are choosing the wrong bird.

  4. Yes cockatoos can be loud especially when they want attention or something to eat. But thats ok they have to be heard and spoiled rotten so as long as you don't mind loving him for who he is and how he acts, you will love this bird to no end. I just got my first cockatoo a few months ago when I traded 2 pomeranian puppies for her. She is a living doll I tell you what. And the kisses and cuddles I get to experience with her trusting her 100% to never bite me, she was worth the puppies to me. Plus the puppies are making some children very happy, it all worked out for the best. GOOD LUCK WITH YOURS! Here is a webpage I biult for mine

Sometimes it takes a while to view it but keep trying.

  5. Cockatoos are gorgeous birds but they are quite loud (think ear-shattering when they get wound up).  They're also very "needy" birds and usually demand a great deal of attention.  Please give this a great deal of thought and do plenty of research before you commit to giving him a home.  (Do you know why the bird is being re-homed?  Unfortunately being constantly re-homed is the fate of too many cockatoos.)
