Im getting a tattoo and i want it to be "live" in french, ?

like live life to the fullest or Live! is it vivre, vivez or vive?

  1. Verbs don't translate the same from English to French.

    The French verb for 'to live' is vivre. Which I believe would be the most equivalent to "Live!"

    Vive and vivez are different conjugations of the verb. For example, vivez goes with the vous form in French. You would only use vivez if you were referring to a group of people (you all live).

    In this case, I believe you would want your tattoo to say:

    "Vis le vie au plus plein"

    But I would get the verified with some one else first because I'm not 100% sure. There are a lot of different tenses for French verbs and they can get kind of confusing.

  2. if it is in the imperative form it would be "vive!" as in "Live"

    and if you want to use the noun it's feminine, as in "la vie"
