  1. You go in and get your molding.

(You basically bite down on this "cement" like substance which is filled in a retainer looking object) I think you take a few x-rays too.

They decide what you need, and so on..

All they do is "glue" your brackets on (brackets are the little square things) on your teeth, after making sure they are secure, they run the wire through and tie it to the brackets with these plastic ties (you can choose what color you want both bracket wise and band wise)

You'll have the plastic ties and wire taken out mostly every time you go for a check up so they can check how you're teeth are moving, and put on some clean ties and readjust the wire size (also putting on new wire)

You want to be careful not to pop off your brackets by eating sticky or hard foods.

You also want to frequently brush your teeth so you don't end up with de-calcification (Which basically just leaves white/yellow marks on your teeth under your brackets so they are square and they are permanent I've been told)

Depending, you may have to where rubber bands which aren't bad at all, they are just two rubber bands in the back of your mouth attached to your brackets.

When getting your braces off - all they do is "pop" off the brackets after removing the wires and ties of coarse. They scrub off the glue left on your teeth from the brackets, give them a light clean and then you're good to go.

If you are getting the whitening then they give you a home whitening kit to take home.

Don't be nervous it's not that bad, your mouth will be sore at times but just take some Tylenol it's well worth it. Good luck!

  2. I think every one goes through a different process because not every ones teeth form the same way but i will tell u the process that i am going through. first i had spacers for about a week then i got the actual braces (i got top and bottom put on at the same time but some ppl don't) I will have braces for about 2 years and when i get them off i will get a retainer. I'm pretty sure everyone gets a retainer eventually though because the retainer helps your teeth stay in shape for a while right after you get your braces off. Hope i helped!!!

  3. uhhh

    Rubber bands

    Spacer

    Brackets(braces)

Hurts for the first few days then its fine..

  4. they are going to take mold of your teeth. no big deal.

they will then take brackets (im sure you know what braces look like) and they glue them on one at a time, then use a certain light and shine in at your mouth that dries it. looks like a little light gun thing.

they will then take a long piece of wire that they slide through all the brackets, that wire when tightened is what is going to pull your teeth and shift them. they will go in the back of the mouth and tighten the wire. its not painful but will feel like a tightening sensation. its not too bad! and doesnt last long. it may be slightly uncomfortable while doing and may last for about an hour if that, since your not used to it, but you will be fine.. and that is pretty much it.. then they basically tell you what you can, and cannot eat, and to brush them correctly and so forth. it really isnt bad at all. and they put rubber bands around the brackets sometimes, which also is not big deal.. it really isnt a painful process.. just sometimes a tightening feeling if anything. doesnt hurt!

  5. 1) They take a mold

    2) They put on braces

    3) Pain

    4) Later on in the treatment they have you start using rubber bands

    5) You get them off =)

    6) You get a retainer

  6. First, they take out the spacers. Then they start gluing on the brackets one by one. Then they put the crowns on your back teeth. Then they put in a wire connected to the brackets. Then they put rubberbands.
