either last year or the year before i went to an orthodontist about getting braces. The dentist said I had a small jaw so my teeth were a bit bunched and that he would pull 2 teeth out from the front. I really dont want my teeth pulled out becasue its never happened to me before it and must hurt like crazy!! So anyways, that was in NZ but now im living in australia and if i go an orthodontist again will they say the same thing? "get 2 of my teeth pulled out?" and if so, does it hurt? if you have had any (front teeth) pulled out PLEASE explain fully what happens and if it hurts etc.

thanks

  1. ok this probably wont help but i had 2 of my teeth kinda in the back pulled out and it didnt hurt at al!!!!!!! i was sooo scared wen i went into the office i was crying, but wen i came out i had a HUGE smile on my face. ok so first wat they do is the num it with novacane. they just put lik a little tiny needle in ur gum but dont worry it wont hurt. then the dentist takes out these plier-like things, but doesnt pull, all he does is wiggle the tooth back and forth gently until it comes out. thats it !!!!!!!! and dont worry bout the braces or getting ur teeth pulled cause i had both done and im still alive so its not lik ur gonna die. its just 1 thing out of ur whole lifee!! so dont get 2 worried.

    hope this helps!!!!good luck=)))

  2. I had braces, too. Now that they're off, there's a high possibility of me having to get 2 teeth pulled as well. When they pull your teeth, they give you anesthesia (something to deaden the area so you can't feel it). Your jaw will probably be swollen for a couple days though. (Here's your excuse to eat ice-cream!) The orthodontist in Australia will probably say the same thing, although who knows for sure? Pulling those two teeth will give the rest of your teeth moving space to straighten out. Hope it goes well!

    Best wishes!

  3. Trust me that getting your teeth pulled doesn't hurt.  The front would be the place to be the least painful because the gum is very small.  When they put the Novocain in the only thing you will feel is the pull.   And just be perepared to be a little scared.  Just ignore your nerves and it will be over in a flash.  And your motivation is that you will finally be able to have straight teeth!

  4. throughout the short life span I've lived, i have had 15 teeth in total pulled out.of course it wasn't all at once , but over four years. they also told me that my jaw was too small, and since my teeth didn't fall out like a normal child my teeth began to crowd and became crooked. so in order to get braces they had to start pulling. four were pulled while they gave me sleeping gas which was great because you don't feel a thing and the rest was pulled by numbing the gums, which only feels like a little pinch. nothing to pain full. it will be a breeze, and in the end will all be worth it because you will have a great smile.

  5. I personally ahd five teeth pulled out at once. It does not hurt in the process. They will numb you really well and then you will feel a slight pulling sensation, just like if someone is pulling your finger. When they are done they will send you home with some ice and pain pills. You will be swollen some, but the ice helps. I think I only took like two of the total pain pills. Your gums feel slimy afterwards, that is normal. hope this helps. You don't have anything to worry about.

  6. orthodontia procedures normally ache, but rarely hurt.

having teeth pulled/extracted is not painful. your dentist will administer a local anesthetic (give you a shot) the numbs the area.  there can be a lot of pressure, depending on how extensive the root system is, but pain should not be a problem.
