Im getting hd through s-video!! it works?

Ok so my pc has a real good hd video card and i have an s-video wire from my pc going to my hd tv and im actully getting hd quality! i just saw kung fu panda chopsticks trailer in hd! no kiddin so is this supposed to happen?

  1. You may get very good quality. And assuming you have a DTV tuner for the computer you are getting DTV broadcasts, including HD.

    You are NOT getting HD on your TV. S-Video does not support HD. It only supports SD resolution. Your video card is downconverting the HD content to SD to send over S-Video. It can indeed look quite good. But for full HD resolution you need to use VGA, Component, or HDMI.


  2. Either your TV is very small, so everything looks nice and clean, or it has a very good scaler.

    Your TV will scale to HD (its native resolution) any available input, and if the input is clean and sharp, it will definitely look very good. What you see is: HD >downscaled to 480i > upscaled back to HD.

  3. Yes, and I can get HD using my Red & White audio cords!
