Im getting married at a courthouse for several reasons, what should I wear?

I was thinking a nice black and white dress with heels. As if I was going out on a romantic date. And he could wear a nice button up shirt and nice pants, like on a date as well. Would that be ok, or too dressed up. I want it to be something I can remember, were going to have a ceremony later on. I just want our first legal marriage to be ok as well.

whatever you want to wear; buy a wedding gown if you'd like...I wore jeans and a sweater........you can't be too dressed up or dressed down....do what you want to do

It doesn't matter what you wear, some people wear full on wedding dresses.

My husband and I got married by jop and later had a formal wedding. He wore a tshirt and jeans and I wore a regular spring dress.

Take lots of digital pictures before the courthouse marriage and see how you look in the dress.

If you look good and feel good in the dress, by all means wear it!

Depend on the age and if it is first marriage i would do the entire white dress nothing formal but dressy yes. What you think about his attire is fine but women wear white to show their purity when married the first time. If it isn't the first then yes what you have chosen sounds fine and not to over dressed at all.

Where whatever in years you won't say I wish I wore something different.  Some people wear wedding dresses.  I say your idea is fine.  Just look your best and be comfortable.  It's your day remember that.

50 years from now, you both will be looking at that picture.

Sounds like a long time, however it goes quickly, especially

when the children are born. Mine are 51, 50 and the youngest 35.

However, it seemed like yesterday.

Hi I got married at the courthouse in January of this year and we both were casual. I wore brown and tan pin stripe slacks with a brown and tan casual top. He wore his black slacks with a button up tan shirt. VERY VERY VERY comfortable it only took 15 minutes and we were done. But like you we will have an actual wedding ceremony on our 5th anniversary. Money was very tight at the time so we did it the easy way.
