We have decided just to go to the jp here in town and get married, instead of waiting until we will have the money for something fancy(never).

  1. Just dress nice.

  2. My 2 cents!!!

Dress nicely.  Go somewhere and have a nice picture taken (even if it's at a department store photo studio) you'll capture the joy of your day; treat yourselves to a special meal.

  3. If I were you I would still get a nice dress and have my husband dress up in a decent suit.  Every guy should have a suit in their closet anyway even if it's only for other weddings and funerals.  You can still invite a few folks and have a dinner at somebody's home.  Ask a family member to snap a few photos with their digital camera, maybe even some posed portraits in a nice park nearby to frame.

You don't have to spend alot of money to make the day special....but I think you should try your best to make it a little more than just another errand on the lunch break.  The last thing you want to do is look back and say "I shoulda...."

  4. civil ceremonies can be cool if that is what you want.

it's clear that is not really what you want so will be a mistake in your case. limited guest list, maybe like a cake and champagne ceremony will not cost much, do something like that rather?
