Im getting my BA in paralegal is that a good degree to have going into law school?

  1. Well first of all a BA in paralegal studies is something that is rare - very few schools actually offer that bc it's usually something that can be done as a 1 year certificate program.  There are some american universities that offer it but they are few and far between.  So just make sure that you realize that if you are actually referring to the more common Certificate then you would not be eligible to apply to law school with that.  You will need an actual bachelors degree to apply to law school.  And if you are going for a bachelors there are so many more worthwhile things to major in that paralegal studies.  

    If you're looking for something that you think is relevant to the study of law (and you school doesn't have a legal studies major) then maybe you should consider Political Science or Criminal Justice.  But really you can major in anything you want and I encourage my students to major in something that you could see yourself pursuing a career in if law school doesn't work out for whatever reason.  The most common majors are Political Science, Psychology, English, History, Philosophy, Economics, but you could major in Biology and still be eligible to go to law school.
