  1. i got mine off

and instantly, i felt free, like i can do ANYTHING!!!!

    haha it feels great!

but really, it feels slimy, you'll know

  2. YoUR COUSIN IS A LIER      I JUST GOT MINE OFF LAST WEEK AND IT ACCTUALLY FEELS LIKE A TOOTH MASSAGE> LOL

and IT TAKES AROUND 30 minutes. LASTLY, AT THE END YOUR TEETH WILL FEEL LIKE COOKED PASTA AND YOUR GUM WILL FEEL LIKE YOU HAVE GUM OR FOOD STUCK IN IT

  3. Super Congrats!! I was stuck with braces from the age of 21 till I was 25 years old and that was after jaw surgery.

Mostly any pain related to removing braces would be due to 2 things, 1. your pain tolerance (some people have very sensitive teeth)

    2. Your age...

If you are in your teens, then removing your braces should not hurt at all. Your teeth might have a slight dull ache due to the removing of the brackets and from no longer having a tight wire connecting all of your teeth. But other than that, it is not painful. You'll be spending most of your time sliding your tongue across your teeth because you forgot how smooth they are, along with rushing out to get crest white strips.

Now if you're older, then they might ache more due to the fact that the roots of your teeth were moved around so much after being positioned prior to braces in the bone for so long.

Get some sleep and be excited...your braces are coming off and you won't be in pain!!

  4. it doesnt hurt. your teeth will feel super slimy and you'll want to keep l*****g them, sounds weird but it's true!

  5. Congrats!  It shouldn't hurt.  They use an instrument that clips off the brackets and bands after removing the wire.  You will feel pressure, but not pain.  Then they just polish your teeth to remove the left over cement.  Not sure how long it will take.  Polishing is kind of like filing your nails...no big deal.  Have fun!

  6. 5 ****** years!?! your teeth must have been really ****** up ahhahaha

  7. well, all i can say is that it's a lot faster removing them than putting them..

    mine didn't hurt

  8. it'll hurt honk honk

  9. Well, the experience depends on your own personal level of pain tolerance. For me, even adjustments were painful, so when I had me braces taken off, I made sure to take painkillers before going to my appointment to ward off any chance of hurt. So in the end, I don't recall it hurting too much. It didn't take very long to remove--getting them on was much more a hassle. The ortho will polish your teeth and make sure to look at your new chompers carefully before the appointment was over. One of my teeth shifted so while it was straight, it was slightly lower than the rest of me teeth. She just filed it down to make it match.

So my advice is maybe take some Advil or Tylenol right before your appointment, if you are a sensitive type of person. And relax because soon your perfect new smile will be revealed. =)
