  1. If your around six weeks preggy, then all they can really tell you is how far along you are, and show you the babies heart beat

  2. Right now they are only going to check that the baby is wronging normally, the size of the fetus, how much amniotic fluid you have, how far on your pregnancy you are...they won't tell you the s*x yet...make sure to drink lots of water or orange juice before going in...but is for a more clear view...congrats on your baby....

  3. CONGRATS!

Your first ultra sound is awesome! You will be able to see the little heart beat and it is totally amazing!

Your lil bubby is probably about 2cm when you get to 8 weeks.

At my 8 week scan my bub didnt look like much other than a blob, but a friend of mine (who's alot slimmer ALOT) you could see more.

They will be able to tell you how far along and your expected date.

Wont be able to find out the s*x yet though.

  4. They can tell you if the heart has developed and apprx. when you are due.  They wont be able to tell you the s*x yet.  Congratulations!!

  5. my friend had to get a scan last week and shes 7 weeks pregnant and she got a picture and the baby is very small at this stage but u can see the baby starting 2 develop she also heard the heartbeat u cant tell the s*x of the baby til your 2nd scan think thats around 18-20 weeks pregnant cant really remember exactly as my daughter is now 8 lol

    best of luck x

  6. For starters, congrats!

At an early ultrasound, as yours will be, they can tell you whether it's ectopic or not, the gestational age and measurements, they will scan for the Nuchal translucency, and measure it's heart rate.

Other than that, they can't tell you the s*x, it is MUCH to early!

EDIT: Yes, they give you a photo to keep! Usually a disc of other photos too.

  7. they tell u how many weeks u are or definete, thery check to see if theres any hotspots which shows you if the baby is healthy. they can't tell u the s*x tho thats at the 20 week scan. they will also giv u a due date. x

  8. oh congratulations....it is very exciting!!! I can't help you with an early ultrasound because i didn't have my first one til i was 20 weeks!!!!

Good luck and i hope it is just as amazing and you thought it would be!!

  9. yes they can tell you how far along you are and yes if the baby is healthy but not until you are about three months along will they be able to tell what s*x it is just be patient  to find out if it is a girl or a boy  when it is time you a going to the most happiest woman a live so don't worry ok just know that you are a lucky person .congrats

  10. Six weeks is too early to know the s*x of the baby. Good luck and congratulations!!!

  11. I had several ultrasounds when I was pregnant with both of my kids and it was different for each of them. With my oldest, the first ultra sound was too soon to tell that I was having a boy and the next one for him was later in my pregnancy and he was too big to see.  When I asked about a photo, they said they didn't do that there.  With my youngest we were able to get 2 photos of him, one earlier in my pregnancy and the other when I was further along when they told me I was having a boy.  Whether or not you get a photo depends on the clinic you go to..some take them, others don't. Right now your baby is very tiny so they will only be able to tell how far along you are, give you an approximate due date and tell you that your little one is healthy.  Ask about getting a photo..hopefully they take them and you'll be able to see..will just be  very small.  Congratulations!
