  1. First of all i just want to make sure you know you should keep them all in seperate cages even the 2 dwarfs unless you want babies. If you want a kind playfull hamster dwarfs arent the ones they need lots of attention though they are very cute if egnored they'll get mean i left mine alone for a week while i was on vaca and it bites me every time i put my hand in her cage to grab her. dwarfs are also very fast and energetic so not very play with you kind of animals. for a cute cuddly hamster i would recomend a teddy bear hamster or even a bald rat though ugly they are very sweet and loving animals. as for cages any cage it just fine all they need is a wheel and space to run such as: http://www.petco.com/product/106281/PETC... you can give it a toilet paper roll they will eat it but its not bad for them they love playing with them. for food they will eat any hamster blend. you can get them a treat called a cheese cake wheel they love playing in cotton candy bedding i buy it a pet depot. i buy aspen bedding in a big packet give a few inches of bedding so they can tunnel under it.

good luck with your hamsters hope i helped.

  2. Before I tell you anything else, please make sure that you don't keep your hamsters together.  Hamsters are solitary animals and need to be caged separately.  I keep my hamster in aquarium tanks.  10 gallons suits their needs very nicely but you can go bigger.  I wouldn't go smaller.  Just make sure that they have tops and that they are secure.  You need water bottles, wheels, ceramic crocks so they can't knock their food out and wood chews for their teeth so that they don't grow out of control.  Carefresh is the best bedding but aspen is also a good bedding.  I do prefer the aquarium tanks because they are easy to clean and they contain the bedding.  Also, you don't have to worry about your hamsters escaping.  My favorite food to give them is the hamster/gerbil food by Nutriphase.

  3. They need a cage obviously, and if you do not have one I would suggest looking on craigslist.com because you can get cheap cages if not free. You could probably go to your local pet store and get food you need and toys, although I wouldn't say toys are essential but they're worth getting.

  4. 1) Cage (plastic, aquarium, wired)

    2) Bedding (aspen or carefresh) DO NOT GET PINE OR CEDAR!!!

    3) Food (fiesta or extreme fruit and nut mix)

    4) Toys (wheels, balls, paper rolls)

5)ECT. (food bowls, water bottles, treats, mineral chews, snacks)

Some good cages I suggest would be: The crittertrail 2, crittertrail 3, aquarium, barred cage (do not use for dwarfs unless you have small close together bars), crittertrail outlook, crittertrail Z, crittertrail Y, crittertrail X.

I hope this helps and congrats!

  5. hamsters don't need to be separated they love having company. i used to have a boy and a girl hamster and they had a lot of kids. they got along fine. anyway, you need:

    food

    water bottle

bedding but not pine or oak

    not a plastic cage
