Im giving my kittens away?

Question

my friend wants one and i know she smokes pot.. its not like she's hiding it or anything. everyone knows. she tells people.

but i don't know how its going to affect the kitten?

and if it does i don't know how to lie to her and tell her she can't have one.

I'm not going to be like no you smoke pot.

because i have already told her she can have one and said i would bring it tomorrow... but i might have to wait till next week till bring it. what do you think i should do?

please put yourself in my situation! when you answer. you wouldn't like your kitten getting harmed by weed would you?

Smoking pot is a sign she's irresponsible. Do you trust her to get vet care for the kitten?  What if she gets high and steps on it? This is definitely not a place I would place a kitten in. Kittens need safety and responsible owners. I'd just tell her I found a home for all of them and have no more to give her. Please have the mom spayed. If not, you'll just have more to give away in a few weeks.

You already know you don't want to give a kitten to your pot smoking "friend". It's your job to protect these kittens who can't do it for themselves. If you tell her that you can't give her a kitten because 1)she doesn't respect her own body by smoking pot and 2) You can't trust her to take care of a kitten if she's stoned, you may be doing her a bigger favor than you know. Take the kittens to a no kill shelter and do yourself and your cat a big favor and have her spayed. Having litter after litter is not good for her health.

Smoking is not good for cats - whether it be cigarette smoke or pot smoke. They are much more sensitive to toxins that humans or even dogs. Besides, most pot smokers eventually get the idea to blow the smoke in the cats face to see what will happen. My suggestion is to talk to her. Ask her if she will at least respect the cat when she smokes and do it in private.

ok pot puts you in crazy situations..its like taking care of a kid..and shes not capable to care for the kitten..the kitten will need lots of special care that she cant give to it..i know this kid who is 14 and threw his kitten off the stairs he broke the kitten legs and spine..think about it..pot will affect the kitten

I would absolutely not trust a kitten with someone who smokes, much less someone who sees no harm in doing drugs. What kind of people are over to her house? What kinds of things does she do when she's high? Has she used anything else? Drugs can cause, at the least, forgetfulness, and at the most, hallucinations, violent behavior, and death. Why let a kitty suffer by having to live with someone like that? Who's supposed to take care of kitty when your friend can't even treat herself with respect?

I most deffantly would not let anyone exspecially someone i know have a kitten knowing they smoke pot... Would you put your baby over there? how old are they? i have 4 kittens that will be 4 weeks tomorrow i am not getting rid of them until 10 weeks old 2 of my friends are taking 1 each they each have a cat already and they are taking one for there cats friend and my sons girlfriend lives with her parents still and i have a year old granddaughter so shes taking one and we are keeping the last one for the baby here now we will have 3 cats i have a old 10 year old guy hes so lazy u never have to worry about him but the girl cat who had babies is my daughters and she moved to nevada and her hubbys in the navy and they will be back in 3 years so i kept the girl here... i really don't think my hubby would have wanted her to leave she just loves him..... she is now fixed though and is Not a outside cat but when she was in heat soon as the door opened she was gone...... got pregnant that night and was back in the  morning ha ha shame on her well good luck to u

I would not give her the cat. If anything ever happened to that animal how would you feel? Tell her that you found a little girl and that it fell in love with it, or blame it on your parents and say that they found homes already.

Week is weed it will affect the cat and could kill it. Cats are attracted to it like they are to cat nip. keep that in mind.

You know what you need to do, you are a responsible person or you would not have given this a second thought.

take them to a no kill shelter or call a rescue group to come get them. they will all get altered and vetted. tell your friend that you decided to take them to the no kill place so that they will get spayed and neutered, vaccines and deworming. besides, the shelter and rescue people will interview adopters and have them sign a contract so that the kittens go to better homes. please have your cat spayed.
