  1. here are some tips:

    1) always smile- smiling shows you're friendly and you're open to people for conversation. smile at people and teachers.

    2) dress to impress- don't change your style for the first day of school or throughout the year. wear something a little nicer for the first day, but that's it.

    3) have good posture- don't walk in a room slouched over. sit up straight in your seat and walk standing upright.

    4) have confidence- if you get the chance to stand up and talk about yourself the first day in a room, do it right. get up and smile and look people in the eyes, even if you don't know them. it will show you're friendly. you could practice this at home before you start school.

    5) smell nice- spray a hint of a nice perfume/cologne on yourself before each class. =)

    6) act comfortable, even if you're not- this one's hard, but you have to do it. don't go up and talk and keep saying "uh" and such.

    7) be kind- if you see someone who is lost or needs help, help them. that's how you make friends.

    8) be active in school- me and my locker partner became close because of fbla. i met so many upperclassmen and such being in a club. sports are also really good because you will find people with comon interest.

    9) go to orientation- if your school has an orientation, then go. mine did and i know it put my mind at ease that i was able to walk around the school and see where classes and places were before school started.

all schools should have a lunchroom. the boys are the same as they were in middle school. =)

  2. Ahh, so many kids are going through the same problem of how scared they are about entering high school.  Trust me, you will be adjusted to it all in a couple days.  High school is not that bad, except for all the drama which I tend to stay away from.  I'm going to be a junior in high school this year and it just feels like another year of work.  Trust me, high school really isn't different from middle school much.  There are possibly thousands of kids in your school, and if you can't make yourself some friends, then you have a problem.  Good luck with everything =).

  3. Just be yourself

Stay away from the "fast" girls and boys

Be wary of females- If you don't have any experience w/ phony girls like I do watch Mean Girls and you'll get why I say that.

Do your work and study hard so you can get into college.

  4. High school takes some getting used to, but as long as you are friendly, meeting new people doesn't take too long. You'll love high school after like a month. You just have to get used to it.

  5. High school is just an extention of all your other schooling up to this point.  Everybody grows a little, but the main ideas are still the same.  Don't worry and just be yourself!
