I know you have to do boot camp again for the marines, and the reason im doing the air force first is cause they don't take prior enlistment. so i figured i do them first

  1. I went to the airforce website and they do take prior service just certain jobs

    1C2X1-Combat Control

    1C4X1- Tactical Air Control Party

    3POX1A-Security Forces Mil Working Dog

    3P0X1B-Security Forces Mil Working Dog

    4NOX1C-Aerospace Med Serv (IDMT)

    4N1X1C-Surgical Serv Orthopedics

There are 14 retraining slots available to all prior service applicants in the following AFSC’s available on a first come, first served basis and these numbers can change without notice:

    1C2X1 ( Combat Control) (3)

1T0X1(Survival, Evasion, Resist, and Escape Ops) (3)

    1T2X1 (Pararescue) (3)

    3E8X1 (Explosive Ordnance Disposal

  2. I don't think you can do straight rank transfer from USAF to USMC. You'll probably be an E-4 after your initial 4 year enlistment in the Air Force, so you'll probably be busted down to E-3 upon joining the Marines.

  3. The transfers usually go the other way. Once you get a taste of the cushy Air Force life there is no way you will go USMC.

  4. If you enlist in the marine Corps as prior service,

You must go to Boot, all Marines do.

You will transfer only E-2 as rank.

But, if the Marine Corps has a serious shortage, of the skill from your prior AFSC, then they may authorize a higher enlistment rank.

That hasn't happened in a while.

  5. the Marines is a waste of 4 years of life
