  1. Puncture repair kit, spanner/allen keys, spare inner tube, wet weather gear, food snacks like chocolate bars, pump, plenty of water. Talk to any of your friends who are going as they may have some useful tips on how to conserve your energy.

  2. 130 miles sounds like a lot for someone asking what to carry?  If you don't know what to carry, will you know what to do with the stuff people are listing.

Didn't see chain tool.  No chain, no bicycle.  Spare tube, pump, patch kit, tire tools.

Eat and Drink; like voting; early and often!!!

Drink! I go through about 1 ounce/hour or for your ride a minimum of 130 ounces.  Electrolytes, salt tablets are passe.

400 calories per hours about all most bods will ingest, replace.

money for food and water, dollar bill also boots small tire tears . change for pay phone.

  3. Multi-tool/enough wrenches to adjust everything on your bike

    Spoke Wrench

    Tire Levers

2 Spare tubes or 1 spare tube and a patch kit

    Pump / CO2

    Money/ID

    A cell phone

    Lots of Water

    Carbohydrate-filled Bars

That shouldn't be heavy at all, and should fit in a under seat bag and in your jersey pockets. Any tools beyond what I listed will probably require repairs that you can't do on the side of the road hence the cell phone.

  4. Gotta be ready for a flat so you need a patch kit, tire lever, pump and spare tube at a minimum.  A good multitool is a good idea, too.  Sunscreen, lip balm, and bandaids are always in my pack in the summer.  You'll need to keep the body fueled, so some powerbars or similar are needed. I also like to carry the packets gatorade and buy water along the way in addition to the water I carry on the bike.   I also love my GPS which is on a  handlebar mount.   Add a lid and some gloves and you should be good to go on your most ambitious ride.
