  1. Do you have any idea how many ships there are in the oceans at any given time?

There are hundreds of cruises every week  of those, you hear of a problem once every few seasons.

    Relax.

  2. nope  i'll float

  3. I just got back Saturday from a 7-night caribbean cruise and you hardly even notice that you are on a boat!!!!

They are very well prepared for emergencies and there are plenty of life jackets, life boats and other lifesaving equipment on board.

We traveled with Royal Caribbean and they actually take the lifeboats out and test them and hold fire drills for the crew and stuff.

I felt very safe traveling and I had never been on a cruise before.

  4. First of all, relax, and breathe.

It is not the Titanic era anymore.  Ships today do have adequite liferafts for everyone onboard if something were to go wrong.  If an emergency does arrise, just stay calm.

Since you have obviously never cruised before, you do not know what you are in for.  You do not feel like you are on some dinky boat swaying in the middle of the ocean.  And if you are cruising within the next couple of months SMILE..b/c I think this is the best time to take a cruise.  you may be nervous at first but when you board you will be in awe of everything and therefore probably stop worrying about worst case senarios.  It's okay that you are nervous because it is something new and something we do not do on a daily basis.  I guarantee you will LOVE it though.  I am flying to NYC in a month and I am nervous even though I have flown 2 times before.  I would much rather take a boat than a plane =)  Just relax, focus on packing, how much fun you will have, and the beautiful beaches you will see.  Take one day at a time and you will be just fine.  Plus it feels more like you are walking around a mall than on a boat!

  5. Don't watch the Titanic!

Kind of like watching Jaws, never want to go back in the water after viewing the movie!

  6. They will make you feel better when you get on the ship and do the "emergency plan" thing.  They show you the boats and where to go just in case and I was impressed with everything.  Dont worry about it!!  How often do you hear about a ship sinking??

  7. these ships are amazingly built with stablizers to stop the rock and enough boats to  fit in 1000 people. so sit back and relax enjoy it

  8. Today's ships have better life saving equipment and a life boat for everybody -- stop fretting and get ready for a great experience -- once on board, you will forget your anxiety and learn to love it.  Have fun and put your worries aside.
