Cruises to Alaska are during the summertime so therefor I have never heard of any shore excursion to go skiing.

There is skiing in Alaska but because you are cruising, you will need to hit the very early portion of the season (but chances are low and probably not "great" skiing. The Aleyeska Resort probably will still have skiing when the cruise season opens in very late April or early May (some of the bigger lines start mid-May). Of course, the farther north you go the better the chances, but for most cruisers, skiing is not on the menu in Alaska. Going on the extreme sides of the cruise season lessens your chances of seeing some of the wonderful wildlife...like bears, moose, whales, etc, although you could see all of them if you try hard enough. I would suggest you determine what you are wanting more and then plan the appropriate trip picking a cruise for wildlife and variety and a land based trip more in the winter for skiing.
