  1. yes, to protect from the sunlight and the dust

  2. Well, I was in Sampa (São Paulo) this time last year and when i arrived it was 26C (78F) and hot-sunny.. i just check the forecast and it should be about 25C (77F) through this week, but partly cloudy each day. I guess its warm enough but the UV won't be so strong. I suppose it doesn't hurt to bring sunglasses, or just buy some cheap ones here, as there is the tropics and sunny days aren't uncommon..

Interesting coincidence, i'll be returning there in about 2 weeks also, but just passing through Sampa!

  3. It is 20°c today. In Rio usually we (Brazilians) don't use sunglasses in Winter. We will know you are foreign.

  4. You should take your sunglasses because regardless the temperature there's plenty of sunlight anytime over there.

  5. Depends which part of Brazil you are traveling to.  Not all Brazil is winter.

  6. It is actually cold in the South (a little below freezing in some areas), so depending on where you're going, do bring some warm clothes. As for sunglasses, you should always wear them to protect your eyes from damaging sun rays, no matter if you're in Brazil, America, Europe, or the season.

  7. I lived in Rio for 5 months last year. I was there at this time last year. Please do bring your sunglasses...and a swim suit! Although there were overcast chilly days - there were many days I would go to the beach and enjoy the sunshine - as do many Cariocas! The beach life is a year long thing and you dont want to miss it! If you are a female you will want to buy a suit down there. All I ever needed was a light sweather in the evenings...Some days I wore a blue jean shirt over my usual top. It would also depend on what part of Brasil you are going to...I have been assuming you are headed to Rio. It is a huge country but you will love every inch of it.
