  1. Why are you going there I wonder? For those living and working there, it's the beginning of the season. The sea will be freezing but you could see some music and dancing, go out on a boat, walk on the beach, watch a bullfight, sit in the lovely cafes drinking chocolate milk and proper coffee, take a coach tour, maybe learn a little about the splendid country you're going to, explore the surroundings, get out of the tourist area.

  2. I live on the Costa Del Sol and it would have helped if I knew the resort where you will be going. This year Easter is in March. If you are there around the 17th - 24th March there will be many fiestas. The Spanish celebrate the whole week, it is called Semana Santa. The seaon in Spain starts to build up during and after Semana Santa.

As for things to do. Obviously as you have a child there is the beach. The sea will be chilly to say the least, but saying that some people swim in January here. Each town will have it's fair share of bars and restaurants. You may want to visit Puerto Banus. It is where the rich hang out and it is great sitting in a bar people watching. It is very expensive so just a coffee or a beer.

There is the wolf park at Antequera. See the link http://www.lobopark.com/

At Maro very close to Nerja you have the famous caves. They are well worth a visit and you will love Nerja as a seaside town. It still retains the feel of a typical Spanish town. Nerja has safe cove like beaches which are wonderful.

I´m going to give you a link to an excellent website. It will give you more information than you will need. It tells you everything about my area of the Costa Del Sol.

Edit;  Make sure you go into a cafe and have Churros y chocolate. Churros are sausage shaped pieces of dough similar to a donut. The chocolate will be very thick. You dip the churros into the chocolate and eat them. Your child will want more and so will you.
